SNP vs SLK Match Highlights for CPL 2024 Match 5

SNP vs SLK Match Highlights, Bhanuka Rajapaksa and Tim Seifert stole the spotlight from centurion Evin Lewis and handed their side a convincing win in the fifth match of the Caribbean Premier League.  

Chasing a target of 202, Bhanuka Rajapaksa’s unbeaten 35-ball 67 and Tim Seifert 27-ball 64 guided team Saint Lucia to five wickets win with five wickets in hand and 16 balls yet to spare.

After winning their first match this season, Saint Lucia straightaway grabbed the third spot on the points table. While St Kitts and Nevis Patriots, who faced their second defeat in three games, slipped to fifth place.

Invited to bat first, the St Kitts and Nevis Patriots lost their first wicket in the third ball of the innings, as skipper Andre Flecther faced a run out.  

However, after that Evin Lewis and Kyle Mayers took complete control of the game in their hands and recorded 199 runs for the second wicket.  

Kyle Mayers missed his well-deserved century by eight runs and went back to the pavilion after scoring 92 off 62.  

While Evin Lewis remained not out on 100. His knock included seven fours and nine maximums.  

Riding high on Lewis and Mayers knocks, team St Kitts managed to post 201 in 20 overs.  

Saint Lucia Kings to chase 202 in 20 overs

The target was indeed big, and the top order batter also threw their wickets in pressure.  

With 24 for 4 after 3.5 overs, the match had seemed out of Saint Kings hands, but Bhanuka Rajapaksa and Tim Seifert came out of syllabus for all the bowlers.  

Both added 103 runs for the fifth wicket, with Tim Seifert being the aggressor in the partnership. Seifert played a knock of 27-ball 64 and brought Saint Kings back into the game. The wicketkeeper batter smashed four fours and six maximums during his innings of 64.  

Rajapaksa then handled the situation and remained unbeaten till the end. His knock of 35-ball 68* and David Wiese 20-ball 34* guided Saint Lucia to a five-wicket win.

Kyle Mayers was awarded as player of the match for his 92-run knock with bat and two wickets with the ball.
