A franchise can retain a maximum of 5 capped players and 2 uncapped players as per the rules.

All ten teams received a time of over a month to finalize their retention list and submit it by October 31, 2024.

The dates of the mega event have garnered every one’s attention due the it’s clash with the India vs Australia test match at Perth, which will start on November 22.

However, there is less to none chance of any conflict between the two events, as the IPL auction will begin in afternoon, while the test match will start in early morning as per Indian standard time.
