Punjab Kings RTM Targets

The Punjab Kings will approach the IPL 2025 mega auction with the biggest purse and are set to dominate the event with a series of strategic decisions. So let’s take a loot at Punjab Kings RTM Targets.

With 110.5 crores remaining in their purse – 27.5 crores more than the second best, Punjab Kings are likely to be the top buyer for any of the big players, while attempting to use at least 3 of their remaining four RTMs.

Among the prospective RTM targets for PBKS are the players who put in solid performances in recent seasons or have shown flashes of brilliance. Whether it’s a dynamic all-rounder or a key fast bowler, the franchise will make sure they don’t lose out on any of their top performers to rival teams. With that in mind, let’s look at 3 Game-changers PBKS could target using RTM in IPL 2025 mega auction.

Arshdeep Singh

The backbone of Punjab Kings bowling line-up for quite a time now, Arshdeep Singh, will be a sure shot RTM pick for the franchise. While many franchises can be seen interested in buying Arshdeep’s services, Punjab can ruin their party by using the Right to Match option.

Arshdeep was the joint-best wicket taker in the T20 World Cup 2024, which India won. The only reason behind Punjab’s decision to not retain him was the 18-crore price tag for the first capped retention. They now have a chance to get him again for less than 18 crores. However, given his ability and performance in the T20 format, it is not surprising if he fetches more than 18 crores.

Harshal Patel

It was a surprise that the Punjab franchise did not retain the IPL 2024 purple cap winner. But similarly, like Arshdeep, they will keep him on their list of players to bring back using RTM. It will be a jackpot if they get him back in less than 10 crores.

Given his experience, success in IPL, and slower balls expertise, Punjab Kings will surely remain in the race and may use RTM to lure him back.

Liam Livingstone

Despite not having the best of his caliber in IPL 2024, the hard-hitting batter, who was bought at 11.5 crore during IPL 2022 auction, Livingstone has scored 827 runs in 30 matches at a strike-rate of 169 for Punjab in three years.

He can roll his arms as needed and has also been seen delivering for his side with the ball. His promotion as stand-in England captain recently added some weight to his resume for consideration. The Punjab franchise can use RTM for Liam Livingstone if the value remains under 10 crores.
