Probable India Squad for T20 WC 2024

The T20 World Cup 2024 is around the corner and is all set to start on June 1st and will go on till June 29th. The Indian team preparations have been going on in full swing and players from around the nation are making their case for a place in India’s T20 World Cup.

However, the summer is all set to give us the best moments, and with India looking for ICC glory for 11 years they are poised to pick the right players to win the championship at least this time around.

The Indian Premier League is a stage where players can make their case and as it is the T20 World Cup the IPL has become a wonderful platform to showcase their skills. Many names are popping up and for the selectors, it will be hard to pick the 15-member squad and in this process, it is obvious that few players will miss out.

India’s Possible 15-Member Squad for T20 WC

Rohit Sharma (C), Virat Kohli, Shubman Gill, Suryakumar Yadav, Rishabh Pant (WK), Rinku Singh, Shivam Dube, Hardik Pandya, Ravindra Jadeja, Kuldeep Yadav, Jasprit Bumrah, Mayank Yadav, Arshdeep Singh, Sanju Samson (WK), Ravi Bishnoi

The likes of Venkatesh Iyer, Ashutosh Sharma, Riyan Parag, and Abhishek Sharma, among many others. While each of these players is having a great season in the Indian Premier League, they still need to perform well in other international series in order to be included in the squad.

They will be put to the test in the upcoming series against Afghanistan and Sri Lanka, but it is not a good idea to include them in the Indian World Cup squad just yet.

On the Indian side, though, there are fewer spots available and the competition is fiercer. Given the presence of veterans on the squad, it is safe to assume that the Indian side will select the best players rather than making many changes.

Conclusion: What to Expect from the Indian Squad in T20 World Cup

The captain and head coach of the Indian team would have a challenging task in selecting the starting eleven. The team appears to be rather solid, with a mix of fresh and experienced players, like Shubman Gill, Rishabh Pant, Mayank Yadav, and Shivam Dube, and veterans like Rohit, Virat, and Bumrah. India hopes to break the curse of not winning an ICC trophy since 2013 by winning their second T20 World Cup.
