Players with Most fifers in ODI for India

Mohammed Shami played a key role in ending Bangladesh’s innings in India’s first match of the tournament. The innings ended at just 228/10, with Shami’s 5 wickets for 53 runs in his 10-over spell. #5 Amit Mishra – 2 fifers in 36 matches

Amit Mishra’s ODI career includes a total of 64 wickets, in his 36 match ODI career. His best bowling figure was against Zimbabwe where he took 6 wickets for 48 runs. His second five-wicket haul was bowled against New Zealand in the last ODI match of his career, he amassed 5 wickets for 18 runs in his 6 over stint. 

#4 Kris Srikkanth – 2 fifers in 146 matches

Kris Srikkanth was the first Indian to score a half-century and take a five-wicket haul in the same ODI. He achieved both of his fifers and the extraordinary feat in the same series against New Zealand in the 1988 New Zealand Tour of India. He amassed a total of 11 wickets in the series, at a total economy rate of 4.14. 

#3 Harbhajan Singh – 3 fifers in 234 matches

Harbhajan Singh’s has accounted for 269 wickets in his ODI career, and in his three five-wicket hauls, two of them were against England, in 2002, he took 5 wickets for 43 runs in his 10 over stint, and in 2006 he took 5 wickets for 31 runs in his 10 over stint. His final fifer came against Sri Lanka where he dismissed 5 for 56 runs in 9.4 overs. 

#2 Javagal Srinath – 3 fifers in 229 matches

Javagal Srinath’s first fifer was achieved against mighty England in the year 1993, where he dismissed 5 for 41 runs in 9 over stint, and his next five-wicket haul came against Sri Lanka in which he amassed 5 wickets for 24 runs in 6.4 overs. And his final fifer was against Bangladesh, where he recorded 5 wickets for 23 runs in his 10 over stint. 

#1 Mohammed Shami – 6 fifers in 104 matches

Mohammed Shami is the current leading wicket taker of the ICC Champions Trophy 2025, his 5/53 in 10 overs shows why he is a key asset in the bowling lineup for team India. In his ODI career has 6 fifers overall, his first fifer was achieved back in 2019 against England, where he took 5 wickets for 69 runs in 10 overs. 

His next 4 fifers came in the year 2023, 2023 proved to be the best year in his career, he amassed a 5 and 7 wicket haul against New Zealand. Apart from this, he has achieved fifers against Australia and Sri Lanka in 2023. Shami will prove to be a key player for India’s 2025 Champions Trophy campaign.
