PAK vs BAN 1st Test Highlights: Bangladesh cricket team stunned the hosts in the first test of the 2-match series to register their first-ever victory against Pakistan in test cricket.  

It was 14th test match between the two Asian team. Pakistan won 12 out of 14, while 1 ended in a draw, and this test marked as the first occasion where Bangladesh opened their victory account.  

Mohammad Rizwan tried his best for the home side with bat, but the less support from other end knocked Pakistan out of the match.  

How Pakistan lost first test against Bangladesh?

Invited to bat, Pakistan faced a shocker after losing their three main batters for just 16. Saim Ayub’s and Saud Shakeel’s 98-run stand brought the hosts back in game.  

Ayub left the crease after scoring 56, and the next batter joined Shakeel at the crease put Pakistan in driver’s seat. Saud Shakeel contributed significantly with a solid 141, and Mohammad Rizwan opened the room for a big total.  

Rizwan was on 171* when Pakistan declared their first innings, many called it a brave move, but at the end it handed Pakistan their first test defeat against Bangladesh.  

Bangladesh’s batting heroics in Pakistan

The home side planned to trap the visitors in the last hour puzzle before stumps on day 2, but the Bangladeshi batters not only passed that test, also managed to score extra 117 runs than the Shan Masood-led side.  

Shadman Islam’s 93, Litton Das’s 56 and Mehidy Hasan Miraz’s 77 were some great knocks for Bangladesh, while Mushfiqur Rahim’s 191 made the biggest impact.  

Riding high on these knocks Bangladesh posted 565 in their first innings.

Team Pakistan pays heavy price for showcasing over smartness

Their move to declare the innings early despite their main batter was at the crease was proved calamitous for team Pakistan. 

They not only missed out on the opportunity but fell into their own trap.  

Pakistan required to went past 117 first in order to set a target for the visitors and they only managed to score 29 more, and gave them a 30–run target, which Bangladesh chased down easily and won the first test.
