New Zealand vs Pakistan highlights

Pakistan, batting first, struggled from the outset as New Zealand’s bowlers maintained tight lines and extracted movement from the surface. Early wickets put the visitors on the back foot, with the top order failing to build substantial partnerships.

Despite some resistance by captain Agha’s 46 off 28, Pakistan’s innings never gained momentum, and they were restricted to a below-par total at the batting friendly surface. Shadab’s 14-ball 26, and Shaheen’s 14-ball 22* cameo took the visitors total to 135 after 15.

In response, New Zealand’s opening pair provided a steady start, negating any early threats from the Pakistan bowlers. The hosts played sensibly, rotating the strike and punishing loose deliveries.

Seifert played a solid knock of 22-ball 45, while Finn Allen’s electrifying 38 off 16 provided New Zealand a strong start in the chase.

With the highlight of the game remained when Tim Seifert struck four monstrous sixes against Shaheen Shah Afridi in an over.

A few wickets in the middle overs gave Pakistan a glimmer of hope, but the required target was never out of reach for the composed New Zealand batting lineup. A well-paced innings by the middle order (Daryll Micthell’ 14 and Mitchell Hay’s 21*) saw the team cruise to victory with few balls to spare.
