New Zealand vs Pakistan T20I series 2025 squad and Update
New Zealand is set to field a revamped T20I squad against Pakistan in the upcoming five-match home series, starting March 16. With key players such as Devon Conway, Rachin Ravindra, and Glenn Phillips unavailable due to IPL commitments, allrounder Michael Bracewell has been named captain. We look at New Zealand vs Pakistan T20I series 2025 squad.
This will be Bracewell’s second time leading the national side, having previously captained during the Pakistan tour in April 2024. The squad features a mix of experienced campaigners and fresh faces, with seven members of New Zealand’s silver-medal-winning Champions Trophy squad included.
With Conway, Ravindra, and Phillips absent, Daryl Mitchell and Mark Chapman will shoulder greater responsibility with the bat. The squad will also be without Lockie Ferguson and Mitchell Santner, both engaged in the IPL, while Kane Williamson opted out of selection due to PSL commitments with Karachi Kings from April 11.
Fast bowler Ben Sears returns after recovering from a hamstring injury, while Ish Sodhi is back after missing the recent series against Sri Lanka. Pacers Kyle Jamieson and Will O’Rourke will be available for the first three matches as part of workload management following their Champions Trophy campaign.
Matt Henry, who injured his shoulder in the Champions Trophy semi-final, has been named in the squad for the last two matches, subject to fitness clearance. Hard-hitting batsman Finn Allen, allrounder James Neesham, and wicketkeeper Tim Seifert have also been included, confirming their availability for the lead-up series ahead of the 2026 T20 World Cup.
With several first-choice players missing, this series offers a valuable opportunity for emerging talents to step up on the international stage.
The first game of the series will be played at Hagley Oval in Christchurch.
