Australia Central Cricket Contracts for 2025-26
Cricket Australia (CA) has announced its list of players with central contracts for the year 2025-26 season. Promising opener Sam Konstas and all-rounder Beau Webster have earned their first contracts for the national teams. Konstas who was impressive during the Border-Gavaskar Trophy, while Webster replaced Mitchell Marsh last year. Spinner Matthew Kuhnemann has been recalled to the contracted list after strong performances in Sri Lanka. However, explosive batter Jake Fraser-McGurk, with inconsistent performances, failed to secure a contract, alongside Sean Abbott, Aaron Hardie, and Todd Murphy, who were dropped from the previous year.
Established players like Pat Cummins, Cameron Green, Josh Hazlewood, Travis Head, Mitch Marsh, Nathan Lyon, Adam Zampa, and Glenn Maxwell have retained their contracts. In addition to contract announcements, CA recently announced an exciting 2025-26 home summer schedule, featuring white-ball series against India and South Africa, followed by the classic rivalry series Ashes series against England.
Pak Fined for Slow-over Rate in 1st ODI against NZ
Pakistan has been fined 10% of their match fee for a slow over-rate in the first ODI against New Zealand in Napier which was played on March 29. The team was two overs short of the target after accounting for time allowances. According to the ICC Code of Conduct, players are fined 5% for each over missed. Mohammad Rizwan accepted the penalty, avoiding a formal hearing. The charge was raised by on-field umpires Chris Brown and Paul Reiffel, with third umpire Michael Gough and fourth umpire Wayne Knights also involved. Pakistan will need to gain back their confidence, before the 2nd ODI which is to be played on 2nd April.
