Who is 1st Indian to hit 13000 T20 runs?

At the iconic Wankhede Stadium on a charged Monday evening, cricket witnessed yet another chapter in the saga of Virat Kohli. The Royal Challengers Bengaluru maestro etched his name deeper into the annals of the sport, becoming the only the fifth player in history to cross the 13,000-run mark in T20 cricket. Let’s look at who is the first Indian to hit 13000 T20 runs.

Virat Kohli became the first Indian to hit 13 thousand runs in T20 cricket after reaching 17 against Mumbai Indians, Kohli passed the milestone, a gentle nod to years of relentless passion, unwavering discipline, and a hunger that refuses to fade.

In doing so, he also became the second-fastest in the world to reach the landmark, getting there in just 386 innings—trailing only the great Chris Gayle, who did it in 381. Remarkably, Kohli had also followed Gayle closely in his previous milestone of 12,000 T20 runs, which he achieved last season in 374 innings to Gayle’s 360.

More than just numbers, this is a celebration of consistency, class, and the undying spirit of a player who continues to redefine greatness.

Talking about the MI vs RCB clash, Royal Challengers Bengaluru put on a batting masterclass, piling up a formidable 221/5 in their 20 overs against Mumbai Indians. The highlight of the innings was Virat Kohli’s milestone knock, as he looked in sublime touch, scoring 67 off 42 balls, including eight boundaries and two sixes—one of which was a stunning hit off Jasprit Bumrah.

After an early blow with Phil Salt departing for 4, Kohli and Devdutt Padikkal steadied the innings, with the latter contributing a quickfire 37 from 22 balls. The momentum kept building as captain Rajat Patidar joined the party, smashing 64 off just 32 balls at a strike rate of 200.00.

Jitesh Sharma’s unbeaten 40 from just 19 balls provided the perfect finish, helping RCB cross the 220-run mark. Hardik Pandya was the pick of the bowlers for MI with 2 wickets, but the rest of the attack struggled to contain the onslaught.
