KKR vs LSG Highlights

KKR vs LSG Highlights: Kolkata Knight Riders registered their fourth win in IPL 2024 to maintain their second spot on the points table with a 8–wicket win over Lucknow Super Giants at the iconic Eden Gardens on Sunday.

Batting first, Lucknow batters never looked comfortable at the crease and only managed to put under par 161 on a batting friendly surface.

The same disappointing story was repeated by LSG bowlers, and they not only failed to defend but also allowed KKR to chase down the target in only 16 overs. Philip Salt ended the game as the highest run-scorer with a sublime 47–ball 89* to win the player of the match.

KKR vs LSG Highlights, Match 30, IPL 2024

Invited to bat first, KKR bowlers made sure to deliver as planned after removing LSG’s 2 players inside powerplay only to put the team under pressure.

Skipper KL Rahul and Ayush Badoni did a 39-run partnership for the third wicket but took 34 balls that again kept KKR on top of the game.

Rahul once again missed to convert his start and went back for 39. LSG’s last match saviour Ayush Badoni only added 29 with the bat.

Nicholas Pooran’s 45-run knock rescued the side as Lucknow managed to post a decent 161.

Kolkata to chase 162 in 20 overs

Playing in his first IPL match, the Gabba hero failed to get off to a good start in the biggest T20 league, as the scenes at Eden in the first over not only disappointed him but the entire team.

After giving 8 runs in first 5 balls, Joseph was seen upset from Yash Thakur, who dropped Salt’s catch on the sixth ball of the over, but as soon as he turned back the umpire signaled no ball, and the dropped was no longer remained an issue for Joseph, but he lost his track and bowled a wide, a 5-run wide, followed by a no-ball before finally delivered a right delivery that went for 6 which helped KKR to collect 22 in the first over.

KKR, however, lost 2 wickets during the powerplay, but with 58 on board, the Kolkata side was not looked in any pressure, as both Philip Salt and Shreyas Iyer drove their team home with a 120–run stand in only 75 balls to help KKR collect their fourth win in the league.

Philip Salt destroyed Lucknow’s bowling line-up with his breathtaking knock of 89* that included 14 fours and 3 maximums.

The win today helped KKR to stay in the second spot on the points table, while LSG slipped to with their third loss in sixth game.
