India’s international home season new venues
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has announced a series of venue changes for the upcoming 2025 international home season involving the Indian men’s, women’s, and A teams. Let us have a look at India’s international home season new venues.
These strategic alterations, aimed at improving playing conditions and logistical flow, will see several high-profile matches moved across cities.
India vs West Indies Test Series
The two-Test series against the West Indies will kick off as scheduled at the Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad on October 2. However, the second Test, initially set for Eden Gardens, Kolkata, will now be played in New Delhi, starting October 10.
India vs South Africa Test Series
In a reciprocal switch, Kolkata will now host the first Test of the South Africa series from November 14, replacing New Delhi as the venue. The remainder of the series venues remain unchanged.
India Women vs Australia Women ODI Series
Due to ongoing renovations at the MA Chidambaram Stadium, Chennai, the India Women vs Australia Women ODI series has been moved:
The first two ODIs will be held in New Chandigarh
The third ODI will take place in New Delhi
India A vs South Africa A One-Day Series
The India A vs South Africa A one-day series, originally scheduled in Bengaluru from November 13. The two-multi days games will be played at the BCCI Centre of Excellence in Bengaluru, while the three one dayers now been moved from Bengaluru to Saurashtra Cricket Association Stadium in Rajkot.
India’s WTC journey begins
India’s World Test Championship (WTC) 2025-27 campaign starts under newly appointed Test captain Shubman Gill. The journey begins with a five-Test home series against England from June 20, followed by two-Test series against both South Africa and West Indies later in the year.
With major cities like New Delhi, Kolkata, Rajkot, and Chandigarh stepping into key roles of hosting this season, fans across the country are set for a cricketing spectacle featuring top international stars and India’s young leadership group.
