Arshdeep Singh

The Punjab Kings pace sensation Arshdeep Singh is one of the contenders in the race for a place in the T20 World Cup squad. His performance on the international stage is not bad as he has played more than 35+ T20I matches for India. In the 2022 T20 World Cup, he was the leading wicket-taker for India in the absence of Jasprit Bumrah. However, with Jasprit Bumrah back in the squad the place for a pacer is very tight.

Indian team currently has Bumrah and Siraj as their fixed bowlers and one more slot is available as Md Siraj is in recovery mode after knee surgery. So with one slot available, Arshdeep Singh could be one among them who could fill the place.

Mukesh Kumar

Mukesh Kumar is another young bowler who could also possibly get a chance in the T20 World Cup squad if he performs well in this IPL. In this IPL 2024 so far he has two games and picked up four wickets in total. His International record however does support him as of now, but he is a promising talent to get the call-up for the 2024 T20 World Cup.

Mayank Yadav

A Delhi-based young 21-year-old pace sensation came into the limelight when LSG faced PBKS in the IPL 2024 match. The young sensation clocked in 155+ speed deliveries and kept bowling at 150+ during his spell. He also picked up three wickets making his name loud and clear to the Indian selectors.

He still has time under his belt, but we can surely say that by the end of IPL, he will surely be a big star in the future. If his performance continues to remain like this then it is sure that he is getting the call-up for the 2024 T20 World Cup.

Akash Madhwal

The Mumbai Indians player is also a good pacer who can be added to the Indian squad for the upcoming T20 World Cup. Akash came into the limelight last year, where in 8 IPL matches he picked up 14 wickets and also clocked in a 5/5 spell in the 2023 IPL. He is a very talented player who has the potential to pick wickets in the middle over and his skills with old ball will surely help India if he gets selected.

However his selection is very difficult, but we can’t rule out the possibility that if he plays and performs well for Mumbai Indians in this IPL then he might get picked. Also given the fact that he is currently playing with the Indian team captain Rohit Sharma. So let’s see how his future turns out to be.

Avesh Khan

He has been in and out of the Indian T20I side over the past few years due to injuries and his performances. He is a very good bowler who has the potential to be a great bowler on the international stage. However, his performance in the recent past has been noting and this IPL 2024 is a nice opportunity for Avesh Khan to make a name for himself and get selected for the 2024 T20 World Cup squad. His results in this IPL will be the deciding factor in his selection.

Conclusion: What To Expect from This IPL 2024

These were the few fast bowlers who could get into the Indian team’s fight for the T20 World Cup. However with the heavy competition going there are also a few other pacers who could get a chance, like Prasidh Krishna, Deepak Chahar, Umran Malik, and Harshal Patel, or who knows a new rising star can be produced in the remaining matches. However, the IPL 2024 is poised to produce some promising pace talent for the Indian team leading up to the 2024 T20 World Cup.
