Will Virat Kohli Play India T20 WC 2024 warmup match?
With India preparing to play their lone warm-up game against Bangladesh on June 1 ahead of the main clash, it will highly unlikely that India’s premium batter Virat Kohli will play that match.
The former Indian captain did not fly with the first batch of players to USA, and as per media reports, Kohli has asked the BCCI (Board of control for Cricket in India) for an extended break after his team, RCB, suffered a heartbreaking loss in the eliminator of the recently concluded IPL.
Kohli is likely to take the flight to the US on May 30, but whether he will be ready enough by the time of warm up game is a highly doubtful affair.

Virat Kohli in T20Is: Best or rest?
The talisman batter has part of India’s last 5 T20 World Cup campaigns and had his moments with the bat but failed to grab the title.
There were a lot of speculations about Kohli’s exclusion from India’s T20 squad after the T20 World Cup 2022 debacle, and his absence in the shortest format of the game since that event has also raised a question about his future in T20Is.
However, the modern-day great made a comeback in T20Is during the Afghanistan tour of India series, which was played in January this year as part of World cup preparations.
He also shut all the critics who often criticize him for his low strike-rate with his bat in IPL by scoring the most this season, 741 runs in 15 games, at a strike-rate of 154.69.
While Kohli is also the leading run-scorer in T20Is with 4037 in 117 games and has the highest run-getter in the world in T20 World Cups with 1141 runs.
Kohli has won two player of the tournament awards in the marquee event as well (2014 and 2016), and he is a big part of India’s squad seeking their second ICC T20 World Cup title.
