IND-W vs UAE-W Highlights

Invited to bat, Indian openers once again provided India a good start with their cameos. Despite not being able to play big knocks Smriti Mandhana (13 off 9) and Shafali Verma’s (37 off 18) contributions helped the women in blue to take the game forward.

Captain Harmanpreet Kaur took charge and played a knock of 66 in only 47 deliveries.

Richa Ghosh, who joined the skipper at crease when the team was 106 for 4 in 11.4, added 75 off 45 balls for the sixth wicket before Harmanpreet walked back to pavilion.

With 5 more balls remaining of the final over, Richa smashed five consecutive fours to not just complete her maiden T20I fifty but her 64* in only 29 guided India to go past 201 in 20 overs.

It was the first instance when India Women’s team cross the 200-run mark in T20 internationals.

UAE to chase 202 in 20 overs

UAE batters started the chase in a defensive mode and lost three quick wickets due to increasing pressure.

Skipper Esha Rohit Oza and Kavisha Egodage tried to bring their side back on track with 30-ball 40 runs partnership, but the wicket of Captain Oza (38) again shattered their hopes.

Egodage scored the most runs for the side and remained unbeaten in the chase at 40 in 30 balls, but that wasn’t enough to secure a win.

Deepti Sharma took two wickets for India. Renuka, Tanuja, Pooja and Radha Yadav bagged 1-1 each.
