IND vs SL 2nd ODI Highlights Today Match

IND vs SL 2nd ODI Highlights: Spinner Jeffrey Vandersay starred with the ball for Sri Lanka with a six-wicket haul and skipper Charith Asalanka also played his part well to beat India by 32 runs in the second ODI of the three-match series.

The R Premadasa Stadium again hosted an ODI on a spin friendly surface, as the spinners got 15 wickets out of 17 in the match and made it extremely uncomfortable for the batters to stay at the crease for long.

With the combined efforts from Dunith Wellalage and Kamindu Mendis Sri Lanka managed to set a decent target. And later their spinner Jeffrey Vandersay took six scalps to keep the Island side in game.

IND vs SL 2nd ODI Highlights

Opted to bat again, Sri Lanka lost their one of their most reliable batters on the first ball of the match after Siraj got the wicket of Pathum Nissanka.

Avishka Fernando (40) and Kusal Mendis (30) somewhat steadied the ship but threw their wickets despite playing for a decent amount of time.

A middle-order collapse again ruined Lanka’s chances to post a big total, but thanks to Dunith Wellalage’s 40 and Kamindu Mendis’s crucial 40 guided Sri Lanka to set a decent target for India.

Washington Sundar grabbed the most number of wickets for India with three. Kuldeep Yadav got two. While Axar Patel and Mohammed Siraj shared 1-1 each.

India to chase 241 in 50 overs

The target went up to 10 runs from the 1st ODI, and the Indian skipper again started in the similar fashion and showed his destructive best by playing a 44-ball 64 knock.

Team India was looking in absolute control when Rohit Sharma was at the crease, as the men in blue reached 97 in 13.2 over, but the next ball changed the whole scenario.

Vandersay sent off the Indian skipper and other five batters back to pavilion. From 97 for none to 147 for six, India once again found themselves in tough situation like the first ODI

Jeffrey Vandersay got the chance to play after Wanindu Hasaranga ruled out of the series due to hamstring injury, and Vandersay proved his selection right by picking six scalps for Sri Lanka.

Axar Patel tried his best and scored 44, but it wasn’t enough to hand guide his side to victory, as the second ODI was ended in Sri Lanka’s favour.
