Previously, the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) had announced the hosting of the white-ball series in August 2025 in Bangladesh. The white-ball series consisted of three ODIs and T20Is. The three ODIs and T20Is were declared to be hosted across two venues, Mirpur and Chattogram.
Moreover, the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) Chief Executive Officer, Nizam Uddin Chowdhury, stated his pleasure to host India in the bilateral series. In addition, he also said that India and Bangladesh have had many close encounters in the past, and the upcoming series will have the same kind of anticipation between the neighboring nations.
However, now, as per reports, the bilateral series might get canceled due to the recent occurrence of terror in Jammu and Kashmir, followed by a controversial remark made by an ex-Bangladeshi officer. However, there is no confirmation regarding the cancellation yet, the series is on the calendar.
India & Bangladesh In ODI & T2OI Series
The last ODI series between India and Bangladesh was in the year 2022/23. The host Bangladesh clinched the three-match ODI series against India by 2-1. Meanwhile, the last T20I series between the nations was in October 2024 in India. India whitewashed Bangladesh, winning the three-match T20I series by 3-0.
In head-to-heads, India has the upper hand against Bangladesh in both ODIs and T20Is. India has won 33 ODIs out of 42 matches against Bangladesh, with one match of a no-result. Meanwhile, in 17 T20Is between India and Bangladesh, India won 16, and only one was in favor of Bangladesh.
