Australia women vs India women 1st ODI Highlights

Opted to bat, India faced a shaky start after losing their dependable and vice-captain Smriti Mandhana’s wicket in the third over of the game, followed by her new opening partner Priya Punia in the seventh over.

Harleen Deol, Harmanpreet Kaur and Jemimah Rodrigues showed some fightback signs, but they both failed to convert their starts to big knocks and got out on 19, 17 and 23, respectively.

Despite being at 62 for 3 in 18.4 overs at one stage, the visitors suffered a collapse and lost their seven wickets for 38 that ended their innings at 100.

Australia’s leading medium-pacer Megan Schutt starred with the ball and took her first fifer in her ODI career. Kim Garth, Asheligh Gardner, Annabel Sutherland, and Alana King all shared 1-1 wicket each.

Renuka Singh’s 3-wicket haul in vain

Australia started the chase as expected and put 48 on board without losing any wicket.

However, as soon as Phoebe Litchfield walked back to pavillion after scoring 35, Australia also faced a shock, as India’s Renuka Singh dismissed both Elysse Perry and Beth Mooney for 1-1 each.

The 20-year-old Priya Mishra, who was playing her third ODI, got the wickets of Annabel Sutherland (6) and Ashleigh Garnder (6).

Litchfield’s opening partner, Voll, stood tall in the run-chase and remained unbeaten at 46 to guide her side to victory.
