A match between India and Pakistan will always have a stadium packed with the viewer. But this ever-increasing craze has gone a notch up with the crazy fast ticket sales. And a World Cup? The excitement of the viewers would be through the roof! Standing room-only tickets for the eagerly awaited ICC Men’s T20 Cricket World Cup match between India and Pakistan at the MCG on October 23 were made available on Thursday.
When they went on sale in the month of February, the general admission tickets for the showpiece game were sold out in five minutes.
“The ticket release ensures that as many fans as possible can attend the fixture scheduled to be played on Sunday 23 October. A limited number of packages also remain available for purchase via the ICC Hospitality and ICC Travel & Tours programs,” the ICC said.
The International Cricket Council (ICC) said that over 4000 standing room tickets would be available for 30 Australian dollars and distributed on a first-come, first-served basis.
“Fans who miss out on tickets can still book their place to see the world’s best cricketers at other T20 World Cup matches, with kids tickets starting from just $5 and adult tickets from $20,” the ICC said.
A re-sale portal will also be introduced by the organizers. It will be opened nearer to the tournament’s first game on October 16.
