Despite a valiant effort from Devdutt Padikkal, who held the innings together with a composed knock of 92 runs, the rest of India D’s batting line-up faltered under pressure. Had it not been for Padikkal’s resilience, the scorecard would have looked even bleaker. The India D innings ended at 183, giving India A a significant 222-run lead.

With this comfortable cushion, India A’s openers began their second innings confidently, setting up a strong opening stand. However, just before the end of the day, Mayank Agarwal fell to a sharp delivery, handing a bit of relief to India D. However India A remains in a commanding position with a lot of time left in the game.
