The presently held ICC meetings over the 2025 Champions Trophy have seen multiple delays, with schedule announcements delayed further as some logistical issues have emerged. No Concessions from BCCI or PCB in Ongoing Dispute

BCCI who had declined to send team India to Pakistan for the 8-team event, led to significant delays. The delays followed multiple meetings among BCCI, PCB, and ICC, with Dubai emerging as the venue where India will play its matches. Which included the semifinals and finals if India qualifies.

The PCB who had remained firm on its stand that there are no security threats in the country further delayed the schedule. Now PCB accepting the Hybrid model and insisting that both India and Pakistan will play their future ICC events in Dubai as the neutral venue, delays are attributed to broadcaster demands, which must be addressed before any decisions are made. While no formal agreement has been reached, talks between the three parties continue positively.

ICC in Deepwater for Concluding the Issue Early

Reports are suggesting that ICC can face complications for failing to release the schedule on time, especially given the financial stakes and the involvement of major stakeholders. As per the agreement, the ICC must announce the schedule of an event at least 90 days in advance. With fewer than 90 days remaining, the International Cricket Council could face significant consequences.

While the Champions Trophy 2025 is scheduled for February 19 to March 9, the venues and schedule remain undecided.
