Who Is Carl Crowe? – A Journey from Leicestershire to Global Coaching
Carl Crowe, born in Leicester, enjoyed a moderate playing career before moving into full-time coaching. The 49-year-old represented Leicestershire in English county cricket, featuring in 49 first-class matches and picking up 60 wickets. Though he couldn’t break into the England national setup, Crowe made a name for himself off the field by dedicating his career to coaching after retiring from active cricket.
He soon established a strong reputation as a technical and strategic spin coach, working in several global T20 competitions. Crowe has contributed to the development of numerous domestic and franchise cricketers, earning recognition for his analytical approach and keen understanding of modern-day spin requirements.
Impactful IPL Experience and Big Success with KKR
Before joining LSG, Crowe had an integral stint with the Kolkata Knight Riders in the Indian Premier League and their sister franchise, Trinbago Knight Riders, in the CPL. His most notable success came during KKR’s title-winning campaign in 2024, when he worked closely with several spinners, including Varun Chakaravarthy. Under Crowe’s guidance, Varun flourished into one of the most promising mystery spinners in the country, earning national recognition and solidifying his reputation as a dangerous T20 bowler.
