Why India cancelled practice game vs India A
The senior men’s Indian cricket team will not play the intra-squad practice match versus India A ahead of Border-Gavaskar Trophy due to focus on extra net practice. Let’s know Why India cancelled practice game vs India A.
After suffering a heartbreaking series lost versus New Zealand, team India was scheduled to start their Australia tour with a 3-day intra-squad practice match against Ruturaj Gaikwad’s-led India A from November 15 to 17.
But the think tanks decided that the senior team will focus more on net practice instead of a warm-up match as if a batsman gets out cheaply in the practice match, he will not receive a chance to bat again immediately.

In a similar style of preparation, the senior team and the India A played an intra-squad match in Johannesburg last year before the two-match test series versus South Africa.
Even after playing the intra-squad game, the Indian batting line-up not able to score much in the opening test.
India dominated the last two BGT played in Australia in 2018-19 and 2020-21. The Indian team played a four-day game vs Cricket Australia XI in 2018-19, and a three-day match vs Australia A ahead of the series in 2020-21.
With an aim to complete a hattrick of series wins in Australia, the Rohit Sharma-led side will look to prepare well with best the possible ways to start and then end the series on a winning note, as their WTC 2025 final qualification also depends on BGT result.
