The Superchargers needed 153 to win against Manchester Originals and Ben Stokes came out to open the innings alongside Matthew Short. He played only four balls before a hamstring concern forced him out of the action.

Stokes ran quickly for a single during the chase and felt discomfort after completing the run, he immediately fell on the ground and threw his gloves in frustration.

The red-ball captain of the England team ended his night on crutches, and will go for a scan today, which likely end his chances to participate in the three-match test series against Sri Lanka.
