The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is expected to announce the new central Contracts for this season 2022-23. And from a few reports, it is known that a few star players like Ajinkya Rahane and Cheteshwar Pujara might be demoted from Group A to Group B of the new central contract 2022-23. According to the new report, the A+ category will have the former Indian skipper Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, and Jasprit Bumrah. The total annual remuneration of Rs 7 Cr will be paid for this particular category of players.
And the rest of the category of players like A, B, and C will be paid Rs 5 Cr, Rs 3 Cr, and Rs 1 Cr respectively.
As per Reports, Here Is The New BCCI Annual Contract List:
Grade A+: Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma and Jasprit Bumrah.
Grade A: Ravichandran Ashwin, Ravindra Jadeja, KL Rahul, Mohammed Shami, and Rishabh Pant.
Grade B: Cheteshwar Pujara, Ajinkya Rahane, Axar Patel, Shardul Thakur, Shreyas Iyer, Mohammed Siraj, and Ishant Sharma.
Grade C: Shikhar Dhawan, Umesh Yadav, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Hardik Pandya, Washington Sundar, Shubman Gill, Hanuma Vihari, Yuzvendra Chahal, Suryakumar Yadav, Wriddhiman Saha, Mayank Agarwal, and Deepak Chahar.
The big changes that we would witness are the main Test specialists for Team India: Rahane, Pujara, and Saha are set to be all being demoted – Both Pujara and Rahane are set to be moved from Grande A to B and Saha from Grade B to Grade C.
Even the star Indian player Hardik Pandya might be moved down from Group A to Group C. The main reason behind this big drop is Hardik has not played a single game for Team India since the T20 World Cup 2021 because of injury.
Even the swing master Bhuvneshwar Kumar might be demoted from Grade B to Grade C. He was seen only featuring in T20 games for India and it was out from the International format for quite a long time.
Suryakumar Yadav is expected to make his debut in the list of Central contacted players 2022-23 because of his amazing performance in all the three formats for India – He is expected to make it in Group C.
Both Axar Patel and Mohammad Siraj have been moved up from Grade B to C. Even another player Shreyas Iyer, have earned a Grade B contract.
