Rishabh Pant’s and Nitish Reddy’s stand for sixth wicket was only lasted for 22 runs. Ravichandran Ashwin, who missed the opening game, shot a valuable 22 before Starck sent him back to pavilion with his unplayable yorker.

Australia batted 33 overs on day 1 and posted 86 for one at the loss of one wicket of Usman Khawaja (13). Nathan Mcsweeney (38*) and Marnus Labuschagne (20*) remained unbeaten in the process, will start the day 2 for the Aussie.
