ABF vs TKR Highlights For 8th Match of CPL 2024

ABF vs TKR Highlights: Fabian Allen starred with both bat and ball as Antigua and Barbuda Falcons defeated Trinbago Knight Riders by six runs to claim their maiden win in CPL 2024.  

After losing their first four games, Antigua displayed their finest performance and trounced the formidable Trinbago in the eighth match of the CPL 2024 at Trinidad.  

Fabian Allen was awarded the player of the match for his outstanding performance in both departments and played a big role in handing his side a victory.

Antigua and Barbuda Falcons took the full advantage of batting first and got off to a flying start with 65 in only 5.5 overs.  

However, despite such a solid start, the Antigua side only managed to add more 111 in next 85 deliveries and finally settled at 176 for 6 in 20 overs.  

Justin Greaves’ 19-ball 37 was the best knock of their innings, followed by Imad Wasim’s 29-ball 46, and the late heroics Fabian Allen of 26* off 11 provided the team some momentum.

Trinbago Knight Riders to chase 177 in 20 overs

Sunil Narine once again came in as opener for his side but failed to show his class this time and went back to pavilion withut scoring a run.  

Andries Gous (39off 33) and Shaqkere Parris (31 off 28) both added 62 for the second wicket, the biggest setback for Knight Riders in the chase was Nicholas Pooran’s wicket, who got out for a duck.  

After losing 3 wickets in the span of 7 runs, Keacy Carty (34 off 22) and Kieron Pollard (30 off 15), kept their side well in the game, but threw their wickets at an important stage, as the team fell six runs short of victory.  

Fabian Allen’s was named player of the match after scoring 26* off 11 with bat and taking 3 wickets with ball.  

With this win, the Antigua and Barbuda Falcons move to fifth spot on the points table. While Trinbago Knight Riders with a win and a loss after two, are in fourth position.
