Sri Lanka gave it everything
The test started off with Bangladesh winning the toss and opting to bat first, their first innings was a decent start to their scorecard which totaled upto 247/10, and the best performance in the batting came from the opener Shadman Islam with his (46 off 93 balls). Sri Lanka then started off their chase for the 247 first innings target, Pathum Nissanka with his (158 off 254 balls) gave it all to chase the target easily and helped Sri Lanka in aiming to build a bigger target to be chased by Bangladesh on the 2nd day of the second test. After his dismissal, Dinesh Chandimal with his (93 off 153 balls) and Kusal Mendis (84* off 87 balls) anchored the innings to build a score of 458, out of which 211 was now meant to be chased by Bangladesh.

Bangladesh started their second innings determined to chase the target easily, with constant dismissals, and no strong partnerships on the pitch. Sri Lanka was dominant enough to clinch the win on the 4th day of the test, with an innings and 78 runs in hand. Bangladesh was bundled up for a mere 133, with Mushfiqur Rahim being the only sole decent batter for Bangladesh. Prabath Jayasuriya took a fifer in this innings for just 56 runs in 18 overs bowled.

Both the player of the match and the player of the series was awarded to Pathum Nissanka for his 158 run performance in Sri Lanka’s only played innings.
