In the ongoing series of West Indies tour of Sri Lanka, West Indies lost all the ODI matches. But in the first T20 match the effort of men in marron made the team win by hitting plenty of sixes and the powerpack performance of Oshane Thomas with 5 wicket haul.

This is not a big achievement to discuss but the real achievement is for Kieron Pollard. Yes, the destructive middle-order batsman and also a useful medium pacer and the captain of West Indies team holds the award of the first player to feature in 500 T20 matches.

Kieron Pollard is an aggressive batsman who made his T20 debut on Jun 20, 2008, vs Australia at Kensington Oval. And on Mar 04, 2020, he has played his last T20 match vs Sri Lanka at Pallekele International Cricket Stadium.

In the span of 12 years, he appeared in 500 matches. Pollard is often in and out of the national team but continues to be a great asset across various T20 leagues.

Pollard was congratulated by his team-mates on his historic day and was presented with a new jersey in which the all rounder’s name is there at the back along with the number 500. The appreciable thing is that the 2nd and 3rd positions in the list also filled with West indies players.

Second, in the list is Dwayne Bravo, who appeared in 453 matches so far and Chris Gayle is in the third position who took part in 404 T20 matches. Apart from his T20 matches, Pollard has also donned the jerseys of several teams.
