In the second Ashes test, Steve Smith was hit by a deadly bouncer by the England fast bowler Jofra Archer while batting in the field. Smith immediately collapsed to the ground after the fierce ball hit him on his neck. He was retired hurt and left the ground.
After a 40 min break and few medical checks, the former captain was back on the field and played a brave knock of 92. However, Steve Smith has been officially ruled out of the upcoming third Ashes test as he was not completely recovered from the concussion.
Basing on the incident, former English player Kevin Pieterson has shared a video of Mark Cosgrove of Leicestershire facing Durham’s Ben Raine’s bouncer in a unique way and advice Australia to maybe Jofra Archer the same way. And given a bit of comical advice on his Instagram account stating – ” How to Play Jofra! laugh laugh laugh…………”
Meanwhile, Jofra Archer has taken a six-wicket haul during the third test match. His crucial contribution with the ball has helped England squad to wrap up Australia’s 1st innings for just 179 runs.
Now England will look dominate the 1st innings with bat and have a good batting day at Headingley.
