IPL 2023: Jio Cinema peaks the Viewership in the free Debut Streaming

Jio Cinema grabs attention by setting records with its viewership and download statistics on the first day of IPL 2023 by making its Indian Premier League debut with 4k viewing in 12 languages, all for free.

Jio Cinema is now the most installed app in a single day with 25 million downloads

In the opening match of the TATA IPL 2023 Gujarat Titans vs. Chennai Super Kings as their favourite teams squared off. With more than 60 million unique viewers and a peak concurrent audience of more than 16 million, the tournament’s first day became the most watched event on Jio Cinema.

The total match views on Day 1 on Jio Cinema touched a whopping 60 million

On Jio Cinema, every game will be available for free streaming. The firm stated earlier this year that there will be no additional fees for consumers to watch the tournament. IPL 2023 fans will also have access to a multicam option that will let them move between several camera perspectives. The users would also have the option of watching the highlights afterwards.

While watching on laptops or larger displays, fans will be able to see the statistics next to the game. The Jio Cinema app will also allow spectators to see statistics like the score and pitch heat map on their phones.

Highest peak viewership on Jio Cinema for IPL 2023:

1.6cr – MS Dhoni’s batting,

1.4cr – Tilak Verma’s batting,

1.3cr – Virat Kohli’s batting.

Although millions of viewers tuned in to watch the FIFA World Cup events on the site, Jio Cinema’s popularity as a sports streaming service is not just confined to the IPL season.

40 billion watch minutes were recorded across Sports18 and Jio Cinema, according to Reports. As a result, Jio Cinema remained the most popular free software downloaded across iOS and Android during the FIFA competition.

India is one of the largest digital viewership markets for the FIFA World Cup with over 110 million viewers across many digital platforms. A total of 32 million people watched Jio Cinema on the FIFA World Cup final day.
