James Anderson Says Calling Off 5th Test A ‘Shame’

England star bowler star James Anderson has posted an emotional message on his Instagram handle after the cancellation of the 5th Test against India at Old Trafford that was scheduled to start on Friday.

The 39-year-old has shown his absolute class and once again proved to each and everyone that “Why he is the Master of Swing bowling in England“.

He has taken over Instagram and posted a photo of the Old Trafford stadium and written -“It’s such a shame the summer of international cricket ended this way

James Anderson also added – “I’m gutted for everyone at @lancashirecricket, for the fans who paid for tickets/trains/hotels, for both sets of supporters that wanted to see the finish this series deserved,”

I hope it will be played again at some point and I hope I will get to play another international game at my home ground that I love so much.”

Before the gloomy clouds of COVID-19 came over, England and India were scheduled to play the 5th Test of the series in Manchester. Indian team physio Nitin Patel, Yogesh Parmar and a few other supporting staff were tested positive for the deadly virus.

Team India was leading the series with 2-1 and they were hungry to win the series on a higher note.

Indian captain Virat Kohli praised the team’s courage in stressful times and said – “The character that the side has shown, to come back from 100 run deficit showed that we were not down and out. I said at Lord’s as well, I am proud of the character, among the top three bowling performances I have witnessed as India captain. It’s relative to what you call flat, the field wasn’t wet like the first three days, the ball got scuffed up nicely, one side heavier, and exploited reverse swing perfectly. We believed as a team that we could get all ten wickets”.
