It’s Just A Matter To Give Confidence To Those Guys: Pollard

Vice-captain of the Mumbai Indians, Kieron Pollard  has slammed cricket pundits for their opinions of the squad’s out-of-form players. Following 3 losses in a row, the Mumbai-based club staged a recovery in the IPL-2021 on Tuesday, 28th September by 6 wickets against the Punjab Kings (PBKS) at the Sheikh Zayed Stadium in Abu Dhabi. Here we have discussed about Kieron Pollard Speaks On MI Squad.

MI opted to rest Ishan Kishan for the match, while speculation about Suryakumar Yadav’s awful form has also been circulating. According to Pollard, who struck a quickfire seven-ball 15 in Mumbai’s successful run chase, said that Instilling confidence among the players is crucial.

They don’t understand what persons go through as cricketers: Pollard

Pollard believes that the guys who haven’t been scoring runs recently are more than qualified because they’ve produced match-winning performances in the past.

“It’s just a matter of trying to give those guys the confidence to show that they have done it before and they can do it again, or finding the problems of what is actually happening and try to find the best solution.

“So that’s all it could be…These are guys who have done it for us time and time again. It’s difficult when you have a lot of other people on the outside as well speaking about it,” Pollard was quoted as saying in the post-match press conference.

“At the end of the day, these people speak and they don’t understand what persons go through as cricketers. So, for us, it’s backing about backing individuals and trying to give them the confidence to do well because they are young talented individuals,” he added.

Saurabh Tiwary, who led MI in the run-chase versus PBKS, also earned praise from Pollard. After Nathan Ellis did get rid of him in the 16th over, the left-hander smashed a 37-ball 45 with 3 fours and 2 sixes.

Pollard also stated that Tiwary was stood strong under pressure on several occasions who seemed very similar to him as the backbone of MI’s batting in Tuesday’s game. After the win, Mumbai moved up to the fifth position, one spot behind Kolkata Knight Riders.
