According to England player Jos Buttler, the Eoin Morgan-led team is unquestionably one of the favorites to win the T20 World Cup. Buttler stated that England will be missing players such as Ben Stokes and Jofra Archer in the competition.

He immediately added, though, that England has numerous match-winners in their side and that he is optimistic about England’s prospects in the multi-nation event.

“I think we’re certainly one of the favourites, I think we’re a brilliant team. I know we’re going to be missing Ben and Jofra, two superstars, but I think you still look down that list and there are some real match-winners in our side and that’s really exciting,” said Jos Buttler.

Jos Buttler also mentioned 2 players who can replace Stokes and Archer. The 31-year-old believes Tymal Mills and Liam Livingstone are 2 players who can significantly impact for England’s prospects to win in the T20 World Cup.

It’s fantastic to have Tymal and Livingstone back at a World Cup: Jos Buttler

Buttler went on to say that Livingstone was excellent in The Hundred and that he will bring that optimism into the T20 World Cup this year. Buttler also stated that Tymal Mills’ left-arm posture and slower delivery might create trouble to the opponents with the bat.

“You look at the opportunities Liam Livingstone was presented with this summer and the way he’s taken his game from those T20 series and The Hundred. That confidence he’ll go into the World Cup with is fantastic”.

“I enjoyed watching The Hundred and seeing Tymal operate again. We’ve seen him a bit before in an England shirt and it’s a fantastic story for him to be back at a World Cup. I think that left-arm angle and extreme pace [will be great] and he’s got a pretty good slower ball as well. He’s a great guy to have in your squad that can pose a lot of problems and has been performing brilliantly well. He’ll come into that tournament with confidence,” concluded Jos Buttler.
