“It Was Completely Normal”- Surya Kumar Yadav Opens up on His Stare Down With Virat Kohli

This recent IPL season has witnessed several intense moments inside and outside the cricket field. One of them being the famous stare down between MI batsman Surya Kumar Yadav and RCB captain Virat Kohli, during one of their clashes.

While Indian selectors have snubbed Yadav from the upcoming Australian tour, he sent a stern message by unloading an unbeaten winning knock of 79 runs from 43 balls. It was a one-sided dominance from Yadav, which RCB fans clearly didn’t like.

Bangalore was on the favorable side as they grabbed two early wickets in eight overs. That said, skipper Rohit Sharma also had to depart early. However, Suya Kumar Yadav filled the void in fashion, taking his team to the winning zone single-handedly.

Meanwhile, Virat Kohli seemingly had a brutal stare down with him and in response, Yadav didn’t hold back. Moreover, he participated equally in the process and gave a fitting reply to his opponents. However,  it didn’t turn vile as both Kohli ad Yadav have accepted it sportingly. Adding to that, Virat Kohli was actually impressed with Yadav’s knock, and the duo shared a word after the match.

Speaking about it, Yadav said, “After the game, it was completely normal because he walked by my side and he said, ‘Well played, great knock, and all that stuff.’ It was normal, like just another day, like how you meet your friends and practice. For the 60-65 minutes for which I was batting, it was under a lot of pressure, but I really enjoyed that innings.”

Although he will not be a part of the Australia tour, Yadav is clearly on the radar for the upcoming matches. He has proven his caliber as a hard-hitter, and Indian cricket can have a relying batsman in their squad in Yadav. That said, he will have to be consistent with his performance, constantly poising threat to the opposition.
