IPL 2022: RR vs CSK Head to Head Records, Stats In IPL History

Rajasthan Royals vs Chennai Super Kings Head To Head Records Preview:

RR vs CSK Head to Head: We are almost at the business end of the tournament. Teams are looking to add those final points to their kitty. There are a few who are in the running for the playoffs while a few are already looking ahead into the next season. It is at this juncture that RR vs CSK Head to Head at the Brabourne Stadium in Mumbai.

Current Form: Rajasthan Royals

The Rajasthan Royals were touted to be one of the favorites ahead of the auctions. They have largely played true to the tag. RR is one team who have excelled in defending totals. They have not tasted great success while defending. It is largely owing to the lack of depth in batting. RR primarily has six specialist batters. The number seven spot is their weak link. They are forced to play a part-time allrounder thereby weakening their bowling too.

RR though to their credit has managed to sail safely. Their top-order has ensured RR posts good scores more often than not. Jos Buttler leads the run charts with a mammoth 600 + runs season. Sanju Samson has been sporadically brilliant. But it has been Shimron Hetmyer who has been fantastic for RR. His return to the side in the game against CSK augurs well for RR. They need to win big to secure the second spot in the standings.

Current Form: Chennai Super Kings

The Chennai Super Kings have had a season to forget. Nothing has gone right for the defending champions. They did seem to have erred in the mega auctions though. It took time for CSK to figure out their best XI. In the absence of Deepak Chahar, CSK struggled to find a bowling leader. The emergence of Mukesh Choudhary is a good sign for the future. CSK would have liked more from their batting unit though.

In IPL 2021, it was CSK’s fearsome batting unit that helped them win their fourth title. Their batting depth was the envy of other teams. They got on with the game right from the word go. But the intent has clearly been missing this season. The travails of Ruturaj Gaikwad didn’t help CSK’s cause. They will look to finish the campaign on a high with a win over RR.

The stakes:

RR has got everything to play for in their last league game. A big win will ensure a top-two finish for RR. They will cherish getting two shots at the final. CSK will be waiting to play party poopers.
