IPL: 5 Underrated Players Who Can Earn Big In Mega Auctions

The IPL 2022 is all set to feature a mega auction. IPL retention permits a maximum of 32 players across 8 teams. Two new teams are allowed to pick 3 players each from the draft. This leaves the remaining players to contest in the auctions, lets see some Players Who Can Earn Big In Mega Auctions.

The who’s who of world cricket will be available in the auction. There will be a lot of lesser fancied names too who will go under the hammer. They will also be expecting great deals from the auction.

We look at 5 such underrated players who can earn big in the mega auctions:

#5 Evin Lewis

Evin Lewis is one of the most underrated opening batsmen in world cricket. As he plays for the Windies, he rarely ever gets his due. But Lewis is a fearsome ball striker. He gets going against both spinners and pacers right from ball one. Lewis was in superb form in IPL 2021 too. But an underperforming Royals side didn’t help his cause. Expect him to get good numbers in the auctions.

#4 Aiden Markram

Aiden Markram’s game has improved remarkably in the past year. He was in sublime form in the World Cup. Markram played the situation wonderfully well mixing adventurism with caution. He went berserk against England in the league stage smashing bowlers to all corners. Markram is a solid captaincy candidate too. Expect him to fetch good numbers this auction.

#3 Adam Zampa

He was arguably the ‘player of the tournament’. It was his spells right throughout that kept Australia in the hunt. His fiver against Bangladesh was the cornerstone on which Australia qualified for the semis. Zampa kept the kiwi batters under check in the finals. He will be the most sought-after wrist-spinner in the IPL mega auctions.

#2 Rassie van der Dussen

He is arguably South Africa’s most important batsman. He beautifully carried the batting on his shoulders. RVD as he is popularly called was Rajasthan Royals’ standby player last season. But owing to the player retention rule, it will be difficult for RR to retain him. He will be on the watchlist of many franchises. RVD seems to be a natural successor to the genius, AB de Villiers. Don’t be surprised if he sets the auction and the IPL on fire.

#1 Wanindu Hasaranga

He was the best-attacking spinner on display in the T20 World Cup 2021. Hasaranga was the leading wicket-taker in the World Cup. He had a fantastic series against a visiting Indian side too. Hasaranga is no mug with the bat. He singlehandedly kept Lanka in the game against England. Hasaranga will be hot property in the mega auctions.
