Can Kolkata Knight Riders still qualify for IPL 2023 Playoffs?
Kolkata Knight Riders, the two-time IPL Champions have again found themselves in desperate territory. The Knight Riders are in a must-win situation in their last four matches to qualify for the playoffs.
With the Kolkata side already behind the race, they will have to buckle up in the remainder of the regular league to make it to the last four of the tournaments. It will be a huge question for them, but not impossible.
Kolkata Knight Riders are currently sitting 7th in the IPL table, far away from the playoff places. They have 10 points after playing 12 games.
The Knight Riders lost their opening game to the Punjab Kings. Then they defeated Gujarat Titans and Royal Challengers Bangalore in two games. They suffered a total of 5 losses throughout the competition.

SRH, MI, DC, and CSK all defeated KKR, keeping them in the bottom half of the standings. To complete a double over them, they defeated RCB in the rematch, but they fell to GT in the following game. The offensive batting lineup of Rajasthan Royals caused KKR to lose their most recent game.
The possibility of the Kolkata Knight Riders making the playoffs is not guaranteed. But to do that, they’ll have to play fearlessly. There are a few ways the Knight Riders can still make it to the final four.
First-case scenario: KKR must triumph in both games. The Knight Riders will be listed in the playoff places if they win their final two games. For the Knights’ playoff aspirations to be further enhanced, Delhi Capitals must defeat teams like RCB and PBKS.
Situation 2: KKR has 10 points right now. Thus, if they win both of their remaining games, they will receive 14 points, which is often insufficient for qualification but has occasionally resulted in teams being qualified. The teams above them and the Net Run Rate will then be the only resources Knight Riders have.
In that case, they will have to hope any two teams among RCB, RR and MI lose at least two more games of their remaining matches.
KKR Remaining IPL Matches:
- KKR vs CSK, May 14th Sunday
- KKR vs LSG, May 20th Saturday
