IPL 2022: Week Six Review-Top 10 Batsmen

It wasn’t an easy week for batsmen to thrive in the IPL. The slow and two-paced wickets have tested the batters. Teams batting second have found the proceedings tough. It was imperative for a set batter to bat right through to guide their team home. But there were few batters who continued to remain consistent. Here is the list of IPL 2022 Top 10 Batsmen in a week.

We look at The IPL 2022: Top 10 Batsmen At The End of Week Six

#10 Tilak Varma (328)

We are into the sixth week of IPL and the uncapped Tilak Varma remains MI’s highest-ranked batsman on this list. He has a free-flowing game against both pacers and spinners. Varma has scored 328 runs in 10 games at an average of 41. His strike rate of 136.66 is pretty decent.

#9 Shreyas Iyer (330)

The KKR captain, Shreyas Iyer remains stationary at number 9. Iyer has notched up 330 runs in 11 games at an average of 33. His strike rate of 130.95 sums up the season KKR is having as none of the batters have complemented Iyer in the middle.

#8 Abhishek Sharma (331)

He has dropped five spots to be placed at number eighth on the list. Abhishek Sharma could just add 7 runs to his kitty this week. He has scored 331 runs in 11 games at an average of 30.09. His strike has dipped to 132.40.

#7 Hardik Pandya (333)

Another batsman who has dropped off places this week is Hardik Pandya. It coincided with Gujarat’s two consecutive losses. Pandya has scored 333 runs thus far in 10 games at an average of 41.63. His strike rate of 134.27 signifies that there is a subdued Pandya at play this season.

#6 Quinton De Kock (344)

He is one of the few batters who has moved northwards in this list. His blistering fifty set up the game beautifully for LSG. Quinton De Kock has scored 344 runs in 11 matches. He is striking at 138.70 while averaging 31.27.

#5 David Warner (375)

The IPL veteran, David Warner storms into this list with powerful performances. He made an amazing statement when his 92 blew SRH away. Warner has scored 375 runs in just 9 games. He averages an outstanding 53.57 while striking it brilliantly at 156.90.

#4 Shikhar Dhawan (381)

He has to be the most underrated IPL batsman ever. Shikhar Dhawan continues his steady rise in this list. He has scored 381 runs in 11 games at an average of 42.33. But Dhawan’s mediocre strike rate of 122.11 is the reason why there isn’t so much spotlight on him.

#3 Faf du Plessis (389)

His knock of 73 against SRH has propelled him back on this list. Faf du Plessis was in search of runs in the last few games. His telling knock comes as a huge relief for not just him but even for RCB fans. He has scored 389 runs in 12 games at a decent average of 35.36. Faf strikes at 132.76, an area where he would want to improve.

#2 KL Rahul (451)

LSG captain, KL Rahul was dismissed for a diamond duck against KKR. But it didn’t stop his side from romping home to a comfortable victory. There was such a massive gap between him and the others on the list that he continues to rank second despite not adding a run to his fifth week’s tally. Rahul has amassed 451 runs in 11 games at an average of 50.11. His strike rate of 145.01 is super impressive.

#1 Jos Buttler (618)

He became the first batsman this season to cross the 600-runs mark. Jos Buttler continues his dominance in IPL 2022. He has pommeled 618 runs in 11 games at an average of 61.80. Buttler’s magic is the fact that he strikes at 152.21 coupled with such consistency.
