IPL 2022: Training Dates and Practice Venues Are Finalized

Indian Premier League is all set to start from 26th March 2022 and earlier BCCI has officially announced 4 venues for this edition. The entire tournament will be under covid restrictions and the IPL governing council has planned to keep it as a biosecure bubble for all the teams. Here in this article, we have discussed IPL 2022 Training Dates and Practice Venues.

All the franchises are making plans for their practice sessions and other activities. And the new update is 5 venues have been identified till now for the team’s practice. All the 10 IPL teams will be starting their respective practice session from 14th and 15th March onwards with proper Covid protocols.

All the players will be kept under a strict bio bubble and it is expected that all the players will start coming to Mumbai from March 8th, 2022.

Here are the identified practice venues for IPL 2022:

  • MCA ground in suburban Bandra Kurla Complex
  • MCA ground in Thane
  • Dr. DY Patil University ground and a football pitch
  • CCI (Cricket Club of India)
  • Reliance Corporate Park ground in Ghansoli

The local Maharashtra government has recently conducted an official meeting with the BCCI and Mumbai Cricket Association in South Mumbai regarding the IPL 2022. The main objective of this meeting was to ensure that the tournament is conducted smoothly.

For this meeting, Ministers of the state government — Mr. Aaditya Thackeray and Eknath Shinde, along with MCA chief Vijay Patil and apex council members Ajinkya Naik and Abhay Hadap were present.

Post the meeting there were a set of rules and regulations which were for all the members who are associated with the franchise. Everyone should undergo an RT-PCR test 48 hours prior to their arrival in Mumbai.
And for the team’s stay – 10 Hotels have been identified in Mumbai and two hotels have been zeroed in for Pune.
And the players will have to undergo a strict 3-5 days of quarantine before entering their respective team bibbles. And the entire tournament is scheduled to play in Mumbai and Pune.

Wankhede Stadium and CCI (Brabourne Stadium) are all set to 20 matches each, the DY Patil stadium and the Maharashtra Cricket Association Stadium at Gahunje in Pune will host 15 games respectively.
