Rajasthan Royals with a stroke of changed luck won the toss today and elected to bat first! The team in the Batting Powerplay scored 44 runs for 1 wicket.

Shami bowled a special first over bringing in his experience and we could see Yashavi looking a little unsettled probably due to big-game pressure. 2 runs came off in the first over. Batter continued being cautious as Yash Dayal bowled the 2nd over. He continued the momentum from the first over and kept his temperament against Buttler who was trying to hit shots off shorter deliveries. 5 runs came off in the over.

The way Gujarat bowlers bowled their first overs, we could say they are here to put their all in. Shami and Dayal look impressive.

Yashaswi was looking a little jittery but showed courage and faced Shami in the 3rd over of the innings, after two failed attempts, he finally scored his first runs with a boundary. Trying to middle the ball, he again hit the ball to covers for a flat-six.  13 runs came off in the over, completely owned by young Jaiswal. Dayal continued with his spell and came to bowl the 4th over of the innings, Yashaswi seemed to have settled at the crease as he hit six on the 5th ball of the over but got out on the very next ball. Yash got Gujarat their much-needed breakthrough. The score was not at 31 for 1 after 4 overs.

Captain Sanju Samson replaced the young batter and started off his innings with a four. Buttler as usual took his time to settle in. We saw a change in the bowling attack as Ferguson came in to bowl the 5th over. Things look under Gujarat’s control as just 6 runs came off in the over. Much to Gujarat’s desperation, Rashid was called for the last bowler of the powerplay to unsettle Buttler who was looking to stem himself for big innings. The batters played him with caution as just 7 runs came off in the over.

The run rate at the end of powerplay is 7.33. Jos Buttler and Sanju Samson are at the crease now.
