Royal Challengers Bangalore defeated Sunrisers Hyderabad by 67 runs in the 54th match of the ongoing IPL at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.

The star of the game was the spin master Wanindu Hasaranga, who took five wickets of Sunrisers Hyderabad and helped his team to earn 2 crucial points on the points table.

Chasing the target of 193, Sunrisers Hyderabad too started their journey just like Bangalore as they lost their first wicket on the 1st ball. Maxwell then bowled the other opener, Abhishek Sharma, on the fifth ball of the run chase.

Rahul Tripathi and Aiden Markram then added 50 runs before the latter was caught by Kohli at deep mid-wicket when he was trying to hit a biggie. Nicolas Pooran also failed to leave any impact and scored only 19 runs. Rahul Tripathi remained the highest run-scorer for Hyderabad as he tried his level best in his 58 runs knock to take his team home but due to lack of support from the other end and increasing run rate, he was forced to play big shots on every ball got trapped in Hazelwood’s slower delivery while attempting to smash a six over the backward square leg area.

Apart from Hasaranga, Josh Hazlewood dismissed two batters, while Glenn Maxwell took 1 wicket for RCB.

Earlier, after the winning the toss and elected to bat first, both RCB openers came with a mindset of providing a destructive start, but Williamson had their own plan, he gave the first over to left-arm leg spinner  Jagadeesha Suchith, who trapped Virat Kohli in the very first ball of the over.

After a disappointing start, both FAF du Plessis and Rajat Patidar steadied the innings and added 105 runs before Jagadeesha Suchith again provided SRH a breakthrough. He dismissed a well-set Rajat Patidar in the 13th over of the innings.

Du Plessis, on the other hand, continued to play his natural game, while Glenn Maxwell, who came at no.4 did a great job and scored 33 runs in 24 balls. He was caught at log on in the 19th over bowled by Kartik Tyagi.

Dinesh Karthik again provided the much-needed finishing touch and smashed 1 four and 4 monstrous sixes in short but effective knock of 30* in just 8 deliveries. While, the skipper FAF du Plessis remained unbeaten on 73 as RCB post 192 for 3 in 20 overs.
