In the recent development related to IPL 2022 venues for playoffs and finals, Sourav Ganguly, the BCCI President has confirmed that Kolkata and Ahmedabad will host the playoffs and final matches of the tournament. He further stated that all playoff games will be played in front of a full house. The Board of Control for Cricket in India’s Apex Council made the decision (BCCI). IPL 2022 Playoffs and Finals To Be Held In Kolkata and Ahmedabad Confirms BCCI
For quite some time there was a buzz related to the dates of the playoffs. On Saturday, It came through BCCI official notice that the dates and venues are finalized. The first Qualifier will take place on May 24, followed by the Eliminator on May 26, both at Kolkata’s Eden Gardens. The second Qualifier will take place on May 27 and the final will take place on May 29, both at Ahmedabad’s Narendra Modi Stadium.
“As far as the men’s IPL knock-out stage matches are concerned, it would be held in Kolkata and Ahmedabad, with hundred percent attendance allowed for the matches to be played after the league staged finishes on May 22,” said Ganguly informing the press.
He also stated that “the Women’s Challenger series will be held between May 24-28 at Lucknow’s Ekana Stadium.”
