LSG vs KKR Head to Head Battle 2022, Records, In IPL History

Lucknow Super Giants vs Kolkata Knight Riders Head To Head Records Preview:

LSG vs KKR Head to Head Battle is the battle between the most consistent and the most inconsistent team this season. The one team has maintained its steady position at the top half while the other team spectacularly nose-dived. It is under these circumstances that LSG will take on KKR in match number 53 of IPL 2022. MCA stadium in Pune will host this game.

Current Form: Lucknow Super Giants

The Lucknow Super Giants have been one of the most consistent sides in IPL 2022. They seemed to have assembled a solid outfit in the mega auctions. But having a good team and putting up good performances is a different story altogether. LSG fortunately has managed to do that. They have quietly gone about their business. Not many people have taken note of their consistent upward rise.

LSG started their campaign with a defeat. It looked like KL Rahul, the leader was after all not that great a choice. But in what has been an inspirational run since, LSG has won 7 games in the next 9 matches. They are second on the points table with 14 points. LSG and GT are the only teams who have dropped 3 games or less. They will be eyeing a playoff spot with a win over KKR.

Current Form: Kolkata Knight Riders

The two-time IPL champions are at the bottom of the heap this season. They started the season with renewed vigor. KKR won 3 out of their first 4 games. Their newly appointed captain, Shreyas Iyer seemed to be the solution for all their woes. It appeared as if KKR could do no wrong. But then they came across the trough. KKR got themselves into a big tangle.

The team from Kolkata went into a downward spiral. They lost 5 games on the trot. KKR lost from positions of absolute strength. They looked lost in a couple of games. KKR’s constant chopping and changing their team combinations didn’t really work out. With 3 wins in 9 games, the road seemed too far ahead for them. KKR thankfully won their last game against RR. It has kept them in the equation still. KKR’s hopes are hanging by a thread. They would want to extend it as long as possible.

The stakes:

LSG clearly is the better outfit on paper. They know the art of winning. LSG will be up against KKR who is fresh from a win after a string of defeats. It promises to be an intriguing game.
