IPL 2022: ‘Just Brilliant’ Sachin Tendulkar Praised Kohli’s Shot Played Against Rashid

Royal Challengers Bangalore were able to keep their dreams of making the playoffs going by claiming victory in a very significant match versus Gujarat Titans. It was the former captain of the Bangalore, Virat Kohli, who grabbed all of the attention as he surged back into form with a usually dynamic 73 runs off of 54 balls. As RCB comfortably hunted down Titan’s goal of 169 with 8 balls to play, the terrific batsman had a cheerful attitude from the very beginning and remained committed to his reputation of ‘chase-master.’ Here is about Sachin Tendulkar Praised Kohli’s Shot.

However, it wasn’t only the admirers who were impressed by the star’s comeback; others in the profession were as well. Especially Sachin Tendulkar, arguably one of the most famous cricketers of all era, was taken aback by Virat Kohli’s spectacular performance throughout his innings.

“I liked the positive attitude shown by the Bangalore batters. Virat took the initiative and he started attacking. In this match, I liked one thing in particular, and that was the precision in his footwork and, as they say, showing the face of the bat. It was visible and I liked that. Both batters are fit, and their running between the wicket is brilliant,” said Tendulkar.

I loved it because it wasn’t a wild slog at all: Sachin

In the current iteration of the Indian Premier League (IPL), Virat has struggled with his performance for a significant portion of the tournament, and this is just his second fifty-plus score of the year.

“The shot Virat played against Rashid, to reach his fifty, was just brilliant. I thought he noticed that it was a leg spinner, and the length of the ball was close to his feet, and at the last moment, he used his wrist to give it elevation. I loved it because it wasn’t a wild slog at all. He read the bowler well and being aware of the length, he played that shot at the last moment. Overall, Virat batted brilliantly I felt and Faf played a great supporting role. That was smart cricket,” Sachin added.

However, the way in which he dismissed all of the bowlers, most notably the deceiving Rashid Khan, was indicative of his command of the match. He did this against the leggie that he had never accomplished before and that was knockdown Rashid for 2 sixes. During the match versus Gujarat, Virat also established a new record for himself by being the first player in history to achieve 7000 runs for a Twenty20 squad.
