IPL 2020: RR Vs CSK- RR Claims The Deserving Victory Over CSK By 16 Runs


Rajasthan Royals Vs Chennai Super Kings, this is the 1st IPL 2020 match taking place in Sharjah – the third venue for this year. In the opening match of the tournament, the CSK team has acquired an easy victory over the defending champions Mumbai Indians. In this RR Vs CSK match, of course, CSK will be on high. But can the Royals can stop the Lions to roar?

MS Dhoni, captain of CSK won the toss and opted to bowl first.

Although Rajasthan Royals lost the wicket of Yashashvi Jaiswal early, Sanju Samson and RR captain, Steve Smith knocked some breathtaking shots as they wanted to take the early benefits against the team of CSK. Sanju Samson hit nine huge sixes but ultimately dismissed by Lungi Ngidi, caught by Chahar for 74 runs.

After Samson David Miller and Robin Uthappa came but dismissed very early. Steve Smith grasps the main key of Rajasthan Royals to cross 200 runs as CSK was able to take three wickets so quickly.

Sam Curran claimed three wickets including the wicket of Steve Smith. But the last over was just out of imagination. 30 runs came from the last over and it became possible only because of Jofra Archer. He hit 3 sixes back to back and took the score of Rajasthan Royals to an amazing total. RR concluded with 216 runs with the loss of 7 wickets. Now CSK needs 217 runs to win the match.

Chennai Super Kings made a good beginning to their 217 runs target chase against the team of Rajasthan Royals. In the powerplay, Shane Watson hit four sixes but Rahul Tewatia cleaned him up after scoring 33 in 21 deliveries.

Very quickly CSK lost its two openers Murali Vijay (21) and Shane Watson (33) to Rajasthan Royal’s spinners- Shreyas Gopal and Rahul Tewatia.  After Shane Watson, Sam Curran came to crease. Two successive sixes, but here also dismissed. Rahul Tewatia has got three wickets back to back. 1st Watson, 2nd Sam Curran, and next Ruturaj Gaikwad.

After the dismissal of Ruturaj, now it’s time for Kedar Yadav. In this difficult situation, he managed to get a hat-trick of fours, but caught by Sanju Samson after scoring 22 runs in 16 balls. Sanju Samson took an amazing catch and sent Kedar Jadhav back to pavilion which brought CSK captain, MS Dhoni, into the crease. CSK was needing more than 14 runs per over.

Faf du Plessis hit a half-century but the required run for CSK was keeps on raising. Although he hit massive four sixes, after scoring 72 runs, he departed by Jofra Archer. And then Ravindra Jadeja came to crease. In the last over, it was hat-trick sixes by MS Dhoni. It seemed the consolation prize for CSK in this match but Rajasthan Royals have won the match by 16 runs.
