IPL 2020 – Mike Hesson And Simon Katich Joins RCB Camp

IPL title has always been a dream for Royal Challengers Banglore every season. They have been trying their best and changing their moves and also tried shuffling players and many more but nothing has worked for them to clinch the IPL title.

RCB has now appointed former Kings XI Punjab coach Mike Hesson as the Director of Cricket Operations while former Australia batsman Simon Katich has been named as the Head Coach for the upcoming season on 23rd August 2019.

RCB management has also announced that Gary Kirsten and coach Ashish Nehra are no more a part of RCB’s coaching staff.

“RCB’s purpose is to be the most trusted, respected and best performing T20 Franchise and hence our constant endeavor is to create a culture of excellence and high performance for every member of the team. To deliver this ambition we are very happy to announce the appointment of Mike Hesson and Simon Katich. We believe that Mike’s extensive experience in building strong teams along with Simon’s powerful cricket experience will help us create a winning culture,” – Sanjeev Churiwala, Chairman of Royal Challengers Bangalore.

“As a result of this restructuring exercise, we will be moving to a single coach model. Consequently, we would like to thank Gary Kirsten and Ashish Nehra for their contribution over the past two seasons. They leave us with a legacy of having given several young players the confidence to show their ability on the highest stage. Everyone at Royal Challengers Bangalore wishes them all the best in the future,” he added.

IPL 2019 has been one of the nightmares for the franchise and they have finished at the bottom of the table and Hesson’s KXlP finished at 6th. While Katich has been working with KKR, and have failed to reach the playoffs and finished at 5th place.

Hesson has quit from the KXlP team and applied for the post of Team India’s Head Coach role, but Shastri has made it at last.

Even Katich’s has ended his association with KKR as they appointed Brendon McCullum as their new head coach.

Mike Hesson has took to Twitter and wrote, “Huge honour to join @RCBTweets Looking forward to joining the team with Simon Katich and @imVkohli along with a highly motivated player and management group,”
