IPL 2020: MI VS DC MATCH PREDICTION | IPL FINAL | DC VS MI

ABOUT THE MATCH:

8 teams, 59 matches, it is now down to 2 teams who would battle it out in the grand finale of IPL 2020. The journey of both these teams who have qualified for the finals has vastly been contrasting while MI bulldozed their way into the finals galloping one team after the other in the league stage and crushing DC in the first qualifier while DC on the other hand suffered 5 losses in their last 6 games before they managed to break the rut with a nicely compiled win over SRH in qualifier 2.

MI playing their 6th final would be etching to carve their name as champions for a record 5th time while DC who entered their maiden IPL final would do well to ensure that they achieve a maiden IPL championship. A battle Royale awaits us in Dubai on 10th November.

Here’s our Match Prediction for the IPL Final where MI take on DC.

This is going to be the rematch of Qualifier 1 where both these teams went head to head against each other. MI cruised to a comprehensive win in that game which left DC searching for answers. But credit to DC too who came storming back into contention with a professional display over SRH and have made the finals. MI has the luxury of having been there and done that on many occasions while DC has the benefit of youth and exuberance which should probably free them to put in their best effort cometh the finals.

MATCH PREVIEW:

Mumbai Indians:

Playing their 2nd consecutive IPL final, Mumbai Indians has bucked the trend of them not fairing well in the even years of IPL. They look like a complete unit with all their departments firing at full tilt. Anything less than a win would be a disappointment such has been the dominance of MI this season.

Their last few games have seen the return of their captain fantastic, Rohit Sharma who still seems a bit hesitant and is yet to play his best cricket, would have a point or two to prove to his critics.

There has been limited news on the availability of Trent Boult for the big match as had supposedly suffered a groin strain during Qualifier 1. If he is deemed unfit, it would surely come as a big blow to the plans of MI.

PROBABLE PLAYING XI:

Quinton de Kock (wk), Rohit Sharma (C), Suryakumar Yadav, Ishan Kishan, Hardik Pandya, Kieron Pollard, Krunal Pandya, Rahul Chahar, Nathan Coulternile, Trent Boult/James Pattinson, Jasprit Bumrah

Team Report:

Even though their record at Dubai has been a tad underwhelming as compared to the other venues in UAE, but their resounding win at Dubai in the first qualifier would give them great confidence heading into the finals.

Delhi Capitals:

A playoffs berth last year where they managed to bag a spot in Qualifier 2 and ended up losing a close match, Delhi Capitals has gone one step further to reach their maiden IPL final this year. This young team has registered all its wins when it has played its most fearless cricket. Under Ricky Ponting and Shreyas Iyer, they look poised to make history.

DC unlike MI doesn’t seem to have any injury concerns heading into the final.

PROBABLE PLAYING XI:

Marcus Stoinis, Shikhar Dhawan, Ajinkya Rahane, Shreyas Iyer (C), Rishabh Pant (wk), Shimron Hetymer, Axar Patel, Pravin Dubey, Ravichandran Ashwin, Kagiso Rabada, Anrich Nortje

Team Report:

DC who looked lost at the business end of the tournament finally seemed to have clicked in unison in their qualifier game against SRH and would be itching to put on another professional display in the finals.

PITCH REPORT:

DC chose to field first in the first qualifier thinking about the dew factor, which did eventually arrive making matters difficult for the bowlers but sadly they didn’t have the batting ammunition left to take advantage of the conditions. Having said that, Dubai remains a venue where we have seen plenty of outstanding cricket right through the tournament and expect the finals to be no different. A good batting deck that would have something for both the spinners and seamers right throughout, expect the pitch to stay the same for the entire course of the match.

WEATHER CONDITION:

The weather is predicted to be pleasant tomorrow and we can expect a full game. Wind velocity is expected to be around 21 km/hour. The daytime temperature is going to hit 32° C and the temperature is going to drop to 23° C at night. Humidity is expected to hover around 58%

PROBABLE TOP PERFORMERS:

MUMBAI INDIANS:

1. Kieron Pollard

The big man from the Caribbean has bailed out Mumbai on quite a few big occasions with his exploits against Chennai in the finals last year still being fresh among everyone’s minds. One can expect a Pollard special in the finals.
DELHI CAPITALS:

1. Shreyas Iyer

If DC has to make history their captain has to lead from the front and Iyer has got everything going for him to do so. If Iyer has a brilliant game expect DC to emerge champions.

HEAD TO HEAD:

1. Total Played–27
2. MI Won– 15
3. RCB Won– 12
4. No Result–0

PROBABLE WINNING TEAM:

6-time IPL finalists, 4-time IPL champions battling it out against maiden IPL final entrant, this is a sure David vs Goliath story. Who would emerge as champions at the end of the game? The veterans or the debutants, we can’t wait for the match to begin. It promises to be one wonderful night.
