Inzamam Opposes Sarfaraz’s Inclusion In Pakistan T20-WC Team

Pakistan’s 15-man T20 World Cup team, which was announced earlier, sparked a lot of criticism, and all countries have until 10th October to make adjustments to their lineup. In the most recent development, they made 3 adjustments to their lineup, calling up Sarfaraz Ahmed, Haider Ali, and Fakhar Zaman. Shoaib Malik was also named as a substitute for the injured Sohaib Maqsood. This article is all about Inzamam Opposes Sarfaraz’s Inclusion In Pakistan T20-WC Team.

Inzamam Opposes Sarfaraz’s Inclusion

In particular circumstances, former Pakistan cricketer and chief selector Sarfaraz Ahmed opposed the inclusion of Sarfaraz Ahmed in the lineup. He went on to say that the selection panel should be able to manage the pressure produced by the media outside and not make choices based on their loudness. He went on to say that, why the side is picking Ahmed regardless of the fact that he hasn’t featured sufficient T20Is in the past 2 years to be ready for the T20 World Cup.

Not playing Sarfaraz for T20 WC will make no sense: Inzamam ul Haq

“If the selection committee wants to make selections based on performance, then they need to forget age and other factors. When you are not going to play Sarfaraz then why are we carrying him? How many T20Is has he played in the last two years? He is a reputable former captain – including him, and not playing him will make no sense,” said Inzamam ul Haq.

According to Haq, Pakistan has struggled even more in the middle order and therefore should have chosen Sharjeel Khan as an opener. Pakistan will go to Dubai on 15 October for their T20 World Cup match. On 24 October, Pakistan will contest their first encounter versus India in Dubai.

“Sharjeel Khan has performed brilliantly. If they didn’t want to shuffle the batting order then why was Shoaib Malik not considered? He has the experience. Both players could have made a huge difference,” added Haq.

There is a lot of buzz surrounding the India-Pakistan encounter in the T20 World Cup, given the arch-rivals only play each other at ICC events anymore. After the 2019 ODI World Cup, they will now face off against one other.
