Dubai Capitals vs Desert Vipers Highlights

Despite losing two early wickets after being invited to bat, the Desert Vipers showcased their batting depth and resilience, putting up a strong total of 189 in their allotted 20 overs.

Max Holden anchored the innings brilliantly, scoring a well-crafted 76, which provided stability after the shaky start. His composed approach, coupled with timely boundaries, helped the Vipers rebuild.

Skipper Sam Curran then took charge, playing a captain’s knock with an unbeaten 62 off just 33 balls. Adding the finishing touches was Azam Khan, who played a crucial cameo, smashing 27 off just 13 balls. His late fireworks gave the innings the final push, taking the total to a challenging 189.

Chasing a competitive total, the Capitals had a disastrous start, losing three wickets within the first five overs for just 31 runs.

However, a resilient 80-run partnership between Shai Hope and Rovman Powell revived their chase. Hope played a steady hand, scoring 43 before being dismissed, while Powell anchored the innings with a brilliant 63 off 38 balls.

With 24 runs needed off the final two overs, Powell’s dismissal put pressure on the lower order.

Stepping up in crunch time, veteran all-rounder Sikandar Raza showcased his finishing prowess. With his composed batting and aggressive shot-making, he ensured Dubai Capitals got over the line, sealing a thrilling victory. His crucial contribution of 12-ball 34* that included five fours and a maximum in the death overs turned the tide, marking a historic moment for the franchise.
